Out now for submissions
The three Wairarapa District Councils (Masterton, Carterton and South Wairarapa) have prepared a Combined District Plan, under the Resource Management Act.
The District Plan is the primary document that manages the environmental effects of land use, development and subdivision in the Wairarapa. It contains policies and rules that may affect you if you are developing or subdividing your property, or setting up a new business. For example, it defines areas (zones) for residential or industrial activities, each with their own set of rules. It defines areas of urban growth, and detailed matters such as the height of buildings.
The Plans Two VolumesHard copies of the District Plan are available for viewing at the Council offices and public libraries.
SubmissionsThe closing date for making submissions is at 5.00pm on Monday 30 October 2006.
If you have any queries or would like further information about the Combined Plan, please contact any of the Planning staff at either the Masterton, Carterton or South Wairarapa District Councils.
Further general information about District Plans, the submission process, how to make a submission, designations, and Council hearings can be found at the Ministry for the Environment website.
