Proposed Wairarapa Combined District Plan Variation 1:
Greytown Future Development Area
Public Notice pursuant to Clause 5, First Schedule, Resource Management Act 1991

The Masterton, Carterton and South Wairarapa District Councils have prepared Variation 1 to the Proposed Wairarapa Combined District Plan. The Variation amends the rules and map in the Proposed Plan to manage subdivision and development in a rezoned residential area of Greytown (?Greytown Future Development Area?).

Proposed Variation 1 (Greytown Future Development Area) is now available for inspection and submission. Submissions are invited from members of the public and any interested groups, with copies of the Variation available for viewing below or at the following locations:

Any person may make a submission on the Proposed Plan Variation. You may do so by sending written submissions to the Masterton District Council which is receiving all submissions on behalf of the three District Councils. Email submissions can be sent to subswaiplan@mstn.govt.nz or postal submissions can be sent to the Masterton District Council, PO Box 444, Masterton. The submission must be consistent with Form 5 and must state whether or not you wish to be heard on your submission. Copies of this form are available from the locations listed above.

The closing date for making submissions is at 4.00p.m on Tuesday 19 June 2007.

The process for public participation on the Proposed Plan is as follows:
After the closing date for submissions, a summary of submissions received will be prepared. This summary will be publicly notified for further (cross) submission.
Following closing of further submissions, the Combined Planning Committee (representing the three District Councils) will jointly hear those submitters that wish to speak in support of their submission.
Decisions will then be made on submissions and any changes made to the Proposed Combined District Plan.
Any person who has made a submission has the right to appeal the decision on the proposal to the Environment Court.
